The MetLife Preferred Dentist Program (PDP), our dental preferred provider organization (DPPO), helps lower1 benefit plan costs through aligning with the latest market trends, dental research and treatment protocols as well as negotiated fees, rigorous selection and retention, and a benefits delivery platform that delivers consistent and accurate payments.

Managed Dental Plans, including dental HMO (DHMO) plans. Employer groups located in California, Florida and Texas with 2-9 employees also have the option to select a stand-alone DHMO benefits plan.
In California, Florida and Texas, our MET Series of DHMO plans are designed to align with the latest market trends, dental research and treatment protocols and they do more to simplify and clarify dental benefits – making it easier for employees and dental offices to understand what’s covered.

- The VisionSavings Eyecare Program is offered through EyeMed Vision Care, Mason, Ohio. EyeMed Vision Care is not affliliated with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and its affiliates.
- Co-payments apply for many covered procedures and vary by procedure.
- Deductible waived for diagnostic and preventive services for plan 1 and 2. Plan number 2 is not available in Mississippi and Texas.
- Groups with no prior dental coverage or without acceptable evidence of prior dental coverage can only choose plan 3.
- Out-of-network benefits are payable for services rendered by a dentist who is not a participating provider. The Reasonable & Customary charge is based on the lowest of (1) the dentist's actual charge, (2) the dentists usual charge for the same or similar services or (3) the charge of most dentists of similar training and experience in the same geographical area for the same or similar services as determined by MetLife.

The Dental HMO/Managed Care companies are part of the MetLife family of companies. "DHMO" is used to refer to product designs that may differ by state of residence of the enrollee, including but not limited to:"Specialized Health Care Service Plans" in California; "Prepaid Limited Health Service Organizations" as described in Chapter 636 of the Florida statutes in Florida; and a "Single Service Health Maintenance Organizations" in Texas.

- Waiver of life insurance premiums in the event of total disability, enabling employees to continue coverage.
- Dependent Life coverage to help employees protect against the potential financial burden caused by the loss of a spouse.

What's Available:
- Definition of disability that protects one of the employee's most valuable assets - the ability to earn an income.
- Work Incentive Benefit encourages a part-time return to work, where appropriate, by allowing replacement of up to 100% of pre-disability weekly earnings, taking into account the Weekly Disability Benefit, return to work earnings, other income benefits and rehabilitation incentives.
- Rehabilitation Program Incentive increases the disability benefit by 10% when the employee is participating in a MetLife-approved rehabilitation program.
- Family Care Incentive benefit when participating in a MetLife-approved rehabilitation program
- Moving Expense Incentive reimburses employees for moving expenses to a new residence if recommended as part of a MetLife-approved rehabilitation program.
- Organ Donor Benefit increases the disability benefit by 10% if disability is a result of an organ transplant procedure. No elimination period is required.
